Application of ADCP flow measurement in water resources monitoring on Chaohu Lake Basin CHENG Yuanyuan1, JIN Chenxi2 (1. Hydrology and Water Resources Bureau of Yunnan Province, Kunming 650106, China) Abstract: In order to meet the needs of the examination and acceptance of Chaohu Lake (river) long-term system, water resources monitoring stations need to be constructed at 43 sections of Chaohu Lake. This paper introduces and compares ADCP flow measuring technology and three kinds of fiow measuring equipment: shipboard-type, horizontal-type and vertical-type. According to the applicable scope of various flow measuring equipment and the characteristics of flow measuring section, suitable construction schemes are selected. After the implementation of the scheme, water quality and quantity can be monitored synchronously. The total amount of pollution from rivers into lakes can be controlled. And it provides the data support for the examination and acceptance of the long-term system of lakes (rivers). Key words: lake (river) long system; ADCP; shipboard-typeADCP; H-ADCP; V-ADCP
